Develop a platform that gathers all information and services from different municipalities.
An app that retrieves all relevant info from different data points: waste calendars, neighbourhood events…
We took care of the technical part and the design of the app.
Select your municipalities of interest and the app serves you tailored content. Goodbye channel multitude!

s-Lim brings together some 40 local entities to develop technological solutions tailored to municipalities and its citizens faster and more efficiently. Mijn Stadsapp is an example of this.
When do you have to take out the trash? The app of the intermunicipal utility company has the answer. Any good events this weekend? You’ll have to check your city’s Facebook page. Want to book an appointment at city hall? Then it’s your city’s website you need to visit.
Municipal communication and services are typically fragmented. And keeping an overview becomes even more difficult when you live and work in different municipalities.
Room for improvement!
s-LIM asked us to develop a digital application that gives citizens easy and flexible access to all that relevant information. From their own municipality and other municipalities relevant to them.
We have developed Mijn Stadsapp.
Mijn Stadsapp groups municipal services and all useful information into one user-friendly app.
We integrated automatic links that bring in data from different sources. Some examples:

We built the app using React Native.
This technology is modular, allowing us to add new functionalities quickly and easily. This saves on future development costs and guarantees that the app can grow with the number of users and municipalities.
In addition, React Native allows the app to be maintained quickly and efficiently for both iOs and Android.
We opted for an easy-to-manage content management system, so that municipalities can adjust the content and settings of the app themselves.
Besides the technical part, we also took care of the design and organised plenty of consultation moments.
Accessibility is key. We chose to keep everything as basic as possible in order to maximise user-friendliness. After all, the target audience is very diverse.

This one app has to serve several municipalities. So it's important to capture all those opinions. And to get everyone on board with the direction we are taking together.

For s-Lim: one single point of contact. We as ACA Group take care of everything: the technical work, the desigs, planning...
For the municipalities: an improved information flow. And therefore more targeted communication to their residents.
For the citizens themselves: a faster and better overview.
The future? Johan Steppe: "We are looking at how Mijn Stadsapp can serve residents even better. And what role AI can play in this.”
"For example, how can this app help with the paperwork related to a new home? Or to get everything sorted when you become a mum or dad? How can we provide residents with even more tailored information?”
"In addition, this app could support municipal campaigns. Such as campaigns around road safety or illegal dumping, for example," Johan concludes. “The possibilities are enormous.”
During the proof-of-concept, important additional challenges came to light, such as the fact that not all types of defects could be detected with the camera setup used. Thanks to ACA's way of working, Duvel was able to quickly gain insight into the possibilities of computer vision and the conditions needed to make the system operational, all at a limited cost.

A tremor in the Force. The last time I felt it was in the presence of my old master. Don't act so surprised, Your Highness. A tremor in the Force. A tremor in the Force. A tremor in the Force.
Renson, a manufacturer in the outdoor living and climate control sector, needed a centralized solution to manage patio covers, shading, lighting, heating, and air quality systems across diverse hardware and networks. ACA Group developed integrated control applications that ensured reliable connectivity and unified system management. During COVID-19, a CO₂ monitoring feature was delivered within two weeks, resulting in faster product innovation and improved indoor and outdoor environmental control.

Stad Hasselt, a local government organization in the public sector, wanted to improve digital access to municipal services through a mobile application but faced low usability and user adoption. ACA Group conducted UX audits and real-world user testing to optimize the app’s design and functionality. This resulted in a user-friendly mobile app with higher user satisfaction and improved accessibility to city services for residents.

Attentia, a provider in the HR and wellbeing services sector, needed to improve its customer journey and online presence but faced challenges with fragmented digital platforms. ACA Group developed a unified, future-proof website by consolidating multiple systems into one platform. This integrated web solution enhances the #OneAttentia experience, enabling customers to easily access services while improving operational efficiency, brand consistency, and digital engagement.

Duvel Moortgat, a brewery in the food and beverage industry, needed a reliable way to detect damaged pallets to ensure safe and efficient beer transport. ACA Group implemented an AI-powered computer vision solution that automatically identifies pallet defects during logistics processes. This automated quality control system reduces manual inspection, lowers operational costs, and improves supply chain efficiency and product quality.

Aqtor!, a provider of orthopedic and mobility aids in the healthcare sector, faced inefficiencies in appointment management that impacted operational productivity and patient experience. ACA Group implemented Planit, a digital planning and scheduling system, to streamline appointment workflows and optimize resource allocation. This solution reduces administrative workload, improves care quality, and increases customer satisfaction by enabling faster, more efficient patient service.

MobilityPlus, a provider in the electric vehicle (EV) charging and sustainable mobility sector, needed to evolve from a standalone mobile app to a scalable digital platform but lacked a unified data and application architecture. ACA Group built an integrated digital ecosystem with a mobile app, web portal, Azure data platform, and AI-driven solutions. This enables data-driven operations, improves scalability, and supports business growth while strengthening MobilityPlus’ market position.
