The Vlaams Energieagentschap (VEA) , a public sector organization in the energy industry, wanted to provide citizens with clear insights into the energy efficiency of their homes. The challenge was to simplify complex calculations into an accessible digital tool. A user-friendly web application was developed to calculate home energy performance. This resulted in improved digital public services and increased citizen engagement in energy efficiency.

From the first workshops between ACA and VEA, it became clear that the target group was broader than just citizens who already knew their EPC label. Many users had no prior knowledge of their energy performance score but still wanted to assess their home's efficiency.
