Large Language Models (LLM) have been extremely popular since ChatGPT entered the scene in 2022. These AI models are extremely powerful, creating a lot of new technological opportunities, for example:

FAQ - Artificial Intelligence

What will happen to my data with LLM?

With the right setup, your data and conversations remain completely private, meaning they won’t be used to train third-party models.

Can I retrain such an LLM tool or use my own data?

Yes! So you can have a language model efficiently search your own database or documents, or e.g. train a model on past conversations of your customer team. Large language models are also suitable for working with very large data volumes.  It is possible to work with documents of 1000's of pages, or search large databases.

Doesn't an LLM tool like ChatGPT invent false answers? Doesn't the model "hallucinate"?

This is strongly related to the "temperature," or creativity of your model. For some use cases creativity is desirable, but for many professional use cases you prefer to minimize or eliminate it entirely. When the tool is used by an expert who critically monitors the output, creativity is certainly permissible. As with many AI applications, the quality of the answers depends heavily on the quality of the data: if there are contradictory assertions in your documentation, it also becomes confusing for ChatGPT.

Aren't LLM tools for professional use very expensive?

It depends on the model and setup you use. For most chatbot applications using GPT3.5, you should expect to pay €0.01 to €0.2 per conversation with multiple messages back and forth. GPT4 is more performant for many applications, but is about ten times more expensive. All usage costs are based on how intensively you use the application. So there is no fixed license fee attached.
