AvioBook: Pioneers in digital aviation

AvioBook, a Thales Group company, works to support airlines to optimise their digital operations. The company provides an extensive, integrated range of ground and flight applications, systems, and solutions that securely connect all stakeholders and crucial assets. Leveraging their expertise in data and cyber security, AvioBook empowers airlines to achieve increased efficiency, sustainability, and profitable growth.

Challenge

Outdated distribution process

AvioBook struggled with an outdated and inefficient distribution process. The existing system involved a complex data chain from production to the customer portal, leading to internal workload inefficiencies and a lack of user-friendly interfaces for customers. Jean-Etienne Hiolle, AvioBook’s Bids and Projects Manager, identified the need to modernize the portal to streamline database distribution while maintaining data integrity and improving customer experience.

Solution

Three key
components

To address AvioBook’s challenges, ACA Group designed and implemented a new portal focused on simplifying database distribution and improving user interaction. The solution included three key components:

  • Database Distribution: A streamlined system for users to easily download navigation databases.

  • Viewer Development: A feature allowing airlines to filter and view specific navigation data, such as airport details.

  • User Management: A system for administrators to manage customer access and subscriptions directly on the portal.

The project, completed in November 2023, involved rapid development cycles and a user-centric design approach, ensuring a modern and intuitive interface.

Result

A transformative portal that simplifies daily tasks

The collaboration between AvioBook and ACA Group resulted in a transformative portal that simplified daily tasks, reduced internal workload, and enhanced customer interaction. The intuitive design and user-friendly interface improved the overall experience for both customers and administrators. Jean-Etienne Hiolle praised ACA Group’s commitment to quality, clear communication, and ability to meet deadlines, which ensured the project’s success. This partnership not only resolved AvioBook’s distribution challenges but also set the stage for continued innovation in aviation data management.
